When I was in my early 40’s, I felt an eruption inside me that rocked my world. Juggling two toddlers and working in a demanding corporate job, being busy was an understatement. I was overweight, exhausted, and quite frankly – NUMB. On top of that, I was a hormonal mess, jumping from birthing and nursing right into menopause!!??

My body, mind, spirit was screaming at me but I just never learned how to listen before.

Feeling as if my world was spiraling out of control, I knew I needed to make some drastic changes. I felt my health and well- being slipping away and I could no longer ignore this empty feeling inside of me.

I knew that there was much more to life than a never ending to do list.

I read everything I could find on health and well-being. Learning about how we are hard wired for pleasure and how the “power of joy” can positively influence our health, including weight loss, resonated deep within my core that set me on a path to personal growth and enhanced my life.

It occurred to me that all my years of struggling with weight gain or the inability to lose weight was actually a symptom of other things missing in my world.

When I couldn’t answer one seemingly simple question – it struck a chord deep within me. Try asking this for yourself – If you can do anything (strip away all obvious obstacles) what would it be?

I realized that I had things all backwards. Working myself to the bone, putting everyone else’s needs before my own, beating myself up for not being in control of my eating, doing grueling workouts to burn off the cookies I binged on the night before, or feeling guilty for all that I “should” be doing wasn’t cutting it any more. I was searching on the outside for my answers rather than looking within. (Deep Breath) Consequently, I was living my life based on what I thought others expected of me because, up until then, it never occurred to me that I actually had a choice.

Talk about an AHA moment!

So back to the question, what did I want to do with my life? I decided that I want to live my life according to my rules. Today, many of my days are still busy but it is by my choice. Most importantly, I practice self-care every day and put my needs on the top of the list. I know that taking good care of myself makes me a better wife, mother, friend. I am more productive and overall healthier and happier me.

And as a result:

  • My weight has stabilized, without dieting.
  • I enjoy exercising my body in ways that make me feel invigorated.
  • I went through menopause with minimal symptoms and without any medication.
  • I feel healthy, happy and vibrant and I like who I see in the mirror!

But most of all, I have learned to listen to my body. She knows exactly what she needs and she will always let me know when something is not quite right. All I have to do is listen!

Adding joy and pleasure into my days has allowed me to create a life that I love. I found my true passion in supporting women just like you on their personal health journeys.

In 2012, I became a contributing author of the Amazon #1 best seller “Women Living Consciously”, an anthology book of real stories of women living on purpose, with passion, empowered.

In 2013, I graduated from the Institute of Integrative Nutrition where I trained to coach others get healthy and improve their lives. As a certified Holistic Health Coach and a member of the American Association of Drugless Practitioners, I now coach women just like you on how to live healthy, vibrant lives.
